I'm always active in one way or another. I work as a physio in the NHS. I have always lived near Doncaster. Outside of triathlon, I enjoy doing DIY, decorating, gardening, walking, riding my horses, seeing family and friends, mountain biking -although Andy may not agree that I always enjoy it... (I'm much braver on a horse than a bike!) I'm not a good spectator. I love the training... the more I ache the next day the better!
I started racing when I finished university quite unintentionally. I was encouraged to do a sprint pool tri and did so on my mum's mtb and had my socks and shoes and towel on the pool side.... didn't think much to being overtaken on the bike so I bought a second hand road bike the next week and tried again a bit later which was more fun. That was 2006, I since raced age group world champs in Hamburg and Vancouver 2007/8 but not much since.
We go to Mallorca with JSNT training camps each spring - brilliant!
swam with Askern Spa from age 6-14 ish and a little with DARTES. Never really raced because I couldn't sit still on the pool side to wait my turn so I competed in riding competions instead.
Nothing until I started triathlon
Just bits for fun... I am a member of Askern running club and done the odd race with them over the last few years.
