The Brass Monkey Half Marathon - York Jan 2011

Would like to claim first position from competing Adwick Tri club members - guess that I can as I was the only one in the race - Andy Coldwell.

Perfect day, nice and still, with a flat course at my mercy.  Made the most of it as far as my legs were concerned - they did not thank me for it the next day. Following a general keep fitness plan through the winter, I managed a 1.36.   Still getting faster at age 45, (1.46 when I was 16 in Sheffield, 1.45 in Doncaster as a 21 year old and 1.39 in Lincolnshire at age 42) ...but the sub 1.30 looks a bit of a stretch now!

Pleasing start to my races for the year, next trip out The Beaver 70.3 in May.  Think there are quite a few Adwick folk planning that outing, so mentally preparing to fall off the medal rostrum.

Happy racing all.
